We are always so afraid to push ourselves outside our comfort zones and take hard decisions and be responsible for the outcome because we are afraid of that very outcome.
I will always say that romantic movies are the best type of movies you could watch. They are fit to fulfil you in whatever mood you are, they give you hope, life lessons, and courage. For me, it was Letters to Juliet, and I can’t believe that I hadn’t watched this movie until today, and I can say it is a gorgeous ode to love and life. It shows all the beautiful ups and downs that we go through in life, and how often we act as mindless cowards, too afraid to confront possible awkward situations, too afraid to do what we have to do, too afraid to realize we have very little and valuable time left, too afraid in fact that we’d rather make up hypothetical scenarios to scare us away from what we want, instead of confronting the situation we have upon us and allow ourselves to be happy. This movie could not reinforce in a more accomplished way the fact that we have to constantly question ourselves “what if?” what if I become honest with my feelings? What if I talk to that guy/girl? What if dare to chase my dreams? What if I stop fooling around and just do what I have to do? What if I start a blog?
This idea not only applies to love, or relationships, but to everything in life. We are always so afraid to push ourselves outside our comfort zones and take hard decisions and be responsible for the outcome because we are afraid of that very outcome. Up until this point, I believe the questions is not only “what if?” it’s also “what is the worst that can happen after I do it?” if I fail, then I will end up the very same way I am right now, so why not? We will never do anything for ourselves sitting on our couch worrying, go ahead and do what you have to do, follow your dreams, talk to that person, don’t wait for your life to pass you by, go... Go! Go!
